We are offering Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Course on Nov 8th around 1p.m. which includes
- Video presentation
- Chest compressions on manikins

- Demonstration of breathing techniques
Course is intended for anyone with limited or no medical training. Also there is no age limit for learning CPR skills. Because of the time constraints a full BLS course is not provided.
Cardio vascular disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. Studies have shown that CPR started by a bystander doubles the likelihood of survival for victims of cardiac arrest.
CPR is to restore and maintain breathing and circulation to those who have stopped breathing (respiratory arrest) and whose heart stopped (cardiac arrest), to provide oxygen and blood supply to the heart, brain and other vital organs.
AED delivers electric shocks to stop a type of irregular heart beat called VENTRICULAR FIBRILLATION (VF), which is a very fast, uncoordinated, ineffective series of contractions of heart. Unless stopped, these are FATAL. Ventricular Fibrillation is the most common cardiac arrest rhythm. Every minute that passes, reduces the chances of conversion of VF to a normal heart rhythm.
American Heart Association initiated access of AEDs throughout the community- in airports, restaurants, malls etc. to decrease the time interval from cardiac arrest to defibrillation.
CHOCKING is a leading cause of death among children especially younger than 3 years of age. Chocking occurs when food or small objects gets lodged and block the throat/windpipe. During chocking not enough oxygen reaches the lungs and without oxygen brain damage occurs in as little as 4-6 minutes and irreversible brain death occurs in 10 minutes. During the course we will go over the 'universal sign of chocking' 'Heimlich maneuver' etc.
LET'S LEARN……. THESE BASICS ……. AND SAVE LIVES.
