REVEALED Retreat: October 25-27, 2019

Dear parishioners,

As mentioned by Achen earlier today, there is a vocations retreat coming up soon in Chicago, called REVEALED. This is the first national vocations retreat hosted by the Diocesan Youth Apostate (DYA)!

This retreat will be from October 25-27, 2019 and held at the Loyola University Retreat and Ecology Campus (LUREC) near Chicago, IL. The purpose of this retreat is for participants to discover the will of God for their life. The primary focus will be on vocations.

The idea of vocation is central to the Christian belief that God has created each person with gifts and talents oriented toward specific purposes and a way of life. In the broadest sense, as stated in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, "Love is the fundamental and innate vocation of every human being" (CCC 2392). Whether it be religious life, marriage or whatever else God is calling you to, discovering your vocation is answering the call to holiness and the path to sanctification that God has intended for you.

Every young adult (18+) is invited to learn what God wants to reveal to them.. The registration cost is $200 and participants will have the chance to listen and learn from many hand-picked speakers who look forward to sharing their vocation journey and offer guidance.

Please see the attached flyer and registration link and strongly consider any young adult you know to partake in this unique program. Those who are interested must sign up using this registration link. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Ashley Kadamthottu (cc'd on this email) or  DYA National Team at info@stthomasdya.org if you or anyone has any questions.

With prayers,
Holy Family Youth Team

New York Catholic Youth Day - October 19, 2019

Dear Parishioners,

Please see this event for 8th grade to highschool students hosted by the Archdiocese of New York.
Please encourage your child to attend. Chaperones from our Parish will be arranged.

New York Catholic Youth Day (NYCYD) is an annual event that gathers hundreds of teens for a day filled with inspirational talks, lively music, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Mass with Cardinal Dolan, service opportunities and time for the teens to get to know each other. This year's theme Speak Up! was inspired by the scripture " I believed, therefore I spoke." 2 Cor. 4:13.  We're calling teens to speak up both in conversation with God and in the face of injustice. Whether its anxiety, depression, bullying, drugs, or any other challenge – we want them to know of God's love that helps give them the courage, confidence and commitment they need.

Date:
Saturday, October 19, 2019

Time:
8:00AM-6:00PM

Location:
